Complications abound, often with rival relic hunters getting involved, generally giving Sydney a chance to show off her martial arts prowess. Most episodes feature the duo traveling around the globe, hunting for clues in order to find the artifact. The show cuts to Trinity College in the present day, where Sydney and Nigel are asked to find the relic by some person or agency such as a museum, private collector (in disguise) or government.
The character of Claudia was replaced in the third season by Karen Petrushky ( Tanja Reichert), who is more talented than Claudia at dealing with predicaments of a bureaucratic nature.Īt the beginning of each episode, there is a short flashback in which a relic or artifact is used or abused in its original time before being lost, stolen or hidden. The series includes fantasy and science fiction elements, with many of the relics featured having supposed supernatural powers or being pieces of unusually advanced technology. She often ends up battling rival hunters seeking out artifacts for monetary gain. She is aided by her linguistic assistant Nigel and occasionally by her somewhat air-headed secretary Claudia. In one episode, Harrison Ford returned to pay a 50-year-old Indy in the bookend segments. Most episodes were bookended by a 93-year-old Indiana Jones, set in the then present day of 1993, who would be reminded of an adventure from his youth, heading into the bulk of the episode. Interestingly enough, Harrison Ford did make an appearance in the earlier Indiana Jones TV show. The series expanded the idea, showing other adventures that Indiana Jones had from the ages of eight to twenty-one. The series was based on a segment from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade featuring a teenage Indy trying to save a relic from a band of mercenaries. From 1992 to 1996, The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles ran for two seasons and an additional four made-for-TV movies. Of course, if this possible Indiana Jones series does end up happening, it won’t be the first time that Indy has appeared on the small screen. Not the first time Indy’s been on television So, it seems like his attitude toward the idea of putting on the hat one more time after The Dial of Destiny has been consistent for some time now. Interestingly, in the announcement from last November, announcing the development of the television series, there was a reference in the article to when Ford had previously stated that Indiana Jones 5 would be his final performance as the character. We don’t know if the show is expected to be a prequel, or a spinoff that would feature different characters, or how it would tie into the Indiana Jones movies in any way.

Indiana Jones may be coming to Disney+ in some form In an interview with Total Film magazine, he stated that the upcoming movie, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will be his last time playing the character.įord did say that he was aware of the possible Indiana Jones TV show that may be happening down the line, but he will not be involved with it in any way.
