Please find the solution and make Quad Draw fast and precise like Topogun is, otherwise this tool is definitely unreliable and Maya can not be considered being a professional tool for retopologising in the video game industry.Ģ- Quad Draw can not select and reproject points placed at a relatively small distance beneath the surface of the mesh. Topogun has the same constant speed at all time, even with more that 15 thousands triangles. The whole tool behaves slower and slower. Extend border and edge are getting slower as well. You will notice the more geometry you add to the retopo mesh the longer the time Quad Draw take to compute and create the new topology. In Maya 2018, please retopologise on a 1 mil poly mesh in Viewport 2 for more than 20 min, getting over 4-5 thousands of triangles. Therefor, comparing the Quad Draw with a more than 6 years old Topogun, which was built as far as i heard based on Maya technology, I think there are several big issues with this tool in production: The tool might be " good enough" for beginner users and low end users though. Right now this tool is far from that for some several obvious reasons (if you use Maya on a daily basis in heavy AAA production environment). I was writing some feedback on the Quad Draw before and i will keep doing it until we will get a fast, reliable, precise tool we can use in the video game industry for AAA production.
